stories-button.pngIron Maiden Album CoverHammerjacks™ first opened in 1977 at 1024 South Charles Street Baltimore, Maryland. It was an iconic music venue known region wide as the best night club on the East Coast. It has been featured in many MTV videos and the HJ logo adorns an Iron Maiden album cover. The original Hammerjacks™ staged huge acts such as The Ramones, Guns N Roses, Alice Cooper, Dave Mathews, local fav Kix, and many, many more! Hammerjacks™ was a beacon for the city as its massive sign beckoned to anyone that drove past Baltimore on I-395. Hammerjacks™ was truly a Baltimore destination to be seen, hear some music, and have a great time.

In 1997, after 20 years of rocking, the Hammerjacks™ building was sold to make way for parking lots that support Oriole Park at Camden Yards and Baltimore Ravens M&T Bank Stadium. In a new location, Hammerjacks™ lived on a while longer on Guilford Avenue.

Fast forward to 2009, being a huge lover of Hammerjacks, Kevin Butler realized that the brand and intellectual property had been completely vacated by the old owners and he legally purchased Hammerjacks™. Since 2009, Kevin has done a superb job at rebuilding the brand and reintroducing it back to those who loved it while expanding it to be relevant in today's world. Currently Hammerjacks has over almost 10,000 active private Facebook Group members and rapidly expanding public Facebook page and it hasn't served a beer or played a tune of music in almost 15 years. Once reintroduced, the Hammerjacks branded products began to sell and sell like crab cakes! (Sorry attempt at Baltimore, Maryland humor…)

Since purchasing the brand, Kevin had been searching for the perfect location to bring Hammerjacks™ back and the perfect partner and operating team to pull it off. Kevin started many music related relationships, as being the owner of Hammerjacks started opening doors in the music world. He met Steve Kicas in mid-2012 and had found his general manager. In 2015, after years of close calls and near misses, Kevin finally met Andy Hotchkiss whose wife’s family owned 1300-1320 Russell St., Baltimore, MD since 1986. Being that Kevin and Andy are both third generation Marylanders, they knew what they had to do...

Together Kevin and Andy began to plan their new vision of Hammerjacks™...

And they can’t f*#king wait to show you!
